How this site is paid for, in the plainest terms available, including what is not for sale.
The position today
No commercial relationship is live on this site at the time of writing. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored placements and no paid partnerships of any kind, and no page links out to a dating app or an app store. The next-step page is the one exception: its button hands you to the app’s own site when the page is about one app, and to a default destination when it is not. There are no affiliate parameters, and this site earns nothing from that click today. When a commission link is added, it will be there because the page is about that app.
If links like that are ever added
Some dating apps run affiliate programs that pay a commission when somebody signs up through a link. If links of that kind are added here, three things will be true, and this page will say so before they appear.
- They will be labeled. A page carrying a commission link will say so in plain words on the page itself, not in the footer.
- They will not change the order of anything. The app a review recommends is chosen before any commercial question is considered, and a commission will never move an app up a list or keep a criticism off a page.
- They will not change the copy. No app gets a friendlier sentence, a softer weakness section or a better verdict because of what it pays. Where that would create a conflict, the link is dropped rather than the sentence.
What is not for sale
Placement in a list, a mention in a comparison, an app’s position relative to another, and the tone of a review are all not for sale here. If you want to know how seriously that is meant, the reviews include the weaknesses of the mainstream apps on the same pages that recommend them.
Check any claim yourself
The app mechanics described here are checkable by installing the app and looking. The signup questions, the paywall and the matching can all be confirmed by anyone with a phone. Statements about how many people near you use an app are a different matter: they are local, they change, and this site does not make them.
